Blower Motors for Furnaces

This is the component that sends air from the furnace or air conditioner into the home.

When replacing a blower motor, costs will range from $150 to $800, depending on the brand and horsepower requirements. Furnace motors can last anywhere from 10-20 years, and it’s often difficult to find an exact replacement. There are many different brands, but if you can confirm the horsepower, RPM, voltage, number of speeds required, and mounting type, you should be able to cross reference your blower motor to another brand if needed. Because blower motors are relatively low cost, it’s typically recommended to replace the motor instead of repairing it. Repairing a furnace motor may cost several hundred dollars.

When ordering a replacement, expect 1-5 days shipping for most motors, when shipping within Canada.

Our direct drive blower motors come in 1/25 horsepower up to 1 horsepower and come in 1-5 speeds.

Condenser Fan Motors

Condenser fan motors keep HVAC compressors from overheating. It’s a part of the condensing unit and is always located outdoors. As such, it’s important to select an appropriate enclosure so that dust, dirt, and other contaminates do not enter the motor and cause damage.

When replacing a condenser fan motor, the expected cost is $130 - $1000. The price will vary depending on the horsepower required. These motors come in 1/20 horsepower up to 2 horsepower.

Pedestal Fan Motors

Sometimes referred to as yoke motors, air circulation fan motors are typically used in manufacturing facilities, hospitals, schools, warehouses, and other clean, dry, large indoor areas. A bracket or strap is attached to the motor for mounting. Pedestal fan motors are typically designed with Totally Enclosed Air Over, or Open Air Over enclosures and must be mounted in the air-steam to maintain proper operating temperatures. If they’re not mounted in the air-steam, they may overheat and fail.

Prices range from $150-$450.

Carbonator Pump Motors

These motors power hub-mounted pump applications and come with a resilient mount, meaning the motor is suspended in position with a cradle to limit vibration when the motor starts. Carbonator pump motors typically cost between $230 – $450, depending on the horsepower required. These are interchangeable with most OEM designs, making the Marathon carbonator pump motor an ideal aftermarket option.

ECM Rescue Motor

Nidec (also known as US Motors or Emerson) offers replacement furnace blower motors and condenser fan motors that will work as drop-in replacements for OEM brands. These motors are highly efficient, translating to lower energy costs for homeowners and businesses.

This shoe fits a lot of feet, so to speak. They come with multiple speeds, but you can choose to use just what you need. The ECM rescue line offers a multi-fit mounts so they are more adaptable for more locations.

These motors are often used as after-market replacements, as they are stocked on shelves and available to ship right away. These also come with a 2-year warranty, adding extra assurance. These come in 1/3 hp, ½ hp, ¾ hp, and 1 hp.

About Packard

Packard has been dominating the HVACR industry since 1959. Their roots are in Lima, Ohio, but a few big moves later, they now operate out of 3 distribution centers across the United States. Their head office and distribution centers tout over 250,000 ft/sq of storage, allowing them to stock an incredible amount of inventory, reducing your lead times.

When Packard sees a need, they seek to fill it. Adding OEM sales specialists to their workforce in 2012 to expand their offerings. Their ability to innovate and offer new products where they see fit has allowed them to provide replacements for obsolete models and unique solutions to customers as technology advances.

eMotors Direct’s Packard product offerings include furnace motors, draft inducers, and a variety of capacitors.
