Unlike the standard AC induction motor, PMAC motors have permanent magnets attached to or embedded in the rotor, which spins at the same speed as the magnetic field. Since the rotor matches the speed of the natural magnetic field, these motors have 15-20% less energy loss than the NEMA Premium Efficient induction motors.
