The WEG CFW700 series is a high-performance variable frequency drive designed for general-purpose industrial applications, providing precise speed and torque control for three-phase induction motors. With power ranging from 1.5 to 150 horsepower (1.1 to 132 kW) and output currents from 6 to 211 A, the CFW700 delivers reliable, flexible, and energy-efficient motor control across a wide variety of processes. Engineered for plug-and-play simplicity, the CFW700 automatically recognizes expansion modules, enabling easy installation and safe operation without additional configuration. Built-in SoftPLC functionality provides programmable logic capabilities, allowing users to develop custom control applications directly on the drive. An intuitive HMI and optional flash memory module make parameter programming, copying, and monitoring fast and efficient, reducing setup time and ensuring consistent performance across multiple units.

The CFW700 features Vectrue Technology®, offering four control modes—linear and adjustable V/F, VVW vector, sensorless vector, and closed-loop vector with encoder feedback—for optimal speed and torque management. Optimal Braking® provides high-performance braking without the need for expensive resistors, while advanced features such as multispeed programming, PID regulation, ride-through, flying start, S-ramp control, skip frequencies, and motor thermal curve adjustment ensure precise operation, energy savings, and protection for both motor and equipment.

Ideal for applications including pumps, fans, compressors, load lifting, machine automation, and general industrial processes, the CFW700 delivers robust performance, energy efficiency, and flexible connectivity. With optional communication modules (RS485, USB, CANopen, Profibus-DP, Ethernet) and plug-in accessories for I/O expansion, the CFW700 provides a versatile solution that keeps industrial operations running safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Description

Designed for controlling squirrel cage three- phase induction motors the new CFW700 is a general purpose drive that gives costumers the flexibility needed for the control of applications ranging from simple speed control to more demanding ones including torque control.

  • Multi-speed: up to 8 preset speeds can be programmed.
  • PID regulation: eliminates the use of an external controller for closed loop control, thus great performance of speed and torque can be achieved.
  • Ride through: embedded in the CFW700 control this function avoids the drive from tripping during a power outage.
  • Speed/Torque regulation: open and closed loop (encoder feedback required).
  • Flying start: it is able to start smoothly a motor connected to a rotating load regardless rotation direction.
  • Control options for DC bus regulation: prevents the drive from tripping when short deceleration time is required, in demanding applications with high inertia loads.
  • S ramp: in applications requiring smooth start-up (e.g. beverage industry) this function can avoid production losses traditional start-up incurs.
  • Three-wire Start/Stop control: retentive contact can command the drive to start/ stop the (Soft PLC)
  • Electronic potentiometer: increase and decrease motor speed using pushbutton control
  • Skip frequency: for some applications specific frequencies must be avoided to protect against resonance
  • Motor thermal curve adjustment: separate adjustment between the motor and drive allows for more effective protection for overload
  • Copy function: by using the flash memory card MMF-02 parameter settings can be easily stored ensuring integrity and safety in case replacement of the drive is required.
